Attention to all those Hot Lips Houlihans and Hawkeyes out there. One of the joys of being a small design label is that we can offer up the 'real deal'. If you're tired of seeing 'designer army jackets' which can mysteriously be ordered in multiple units, then look no further.

We have sourced genuine vintage army jackets, typically US Marine Corps or similar. Some of these jackets are Vietnam war era and incredibly soft, others a little more recent, but all are genuine vintage. Then we've gone to work on them with vintage Hmong embroidery. We gave our artisans no rules and simply let their creative impulses reign free and wild. As a result, we think we've come up with something a little special and utterly unique. We give you the 'Make Love, Not War Army Jacket'.

As with all our line-up, each piece is individually hand made and marking irregularities or imperfect embroidery may be apparent. Because of the vintage of the jackets also, there may be occasional marks, worn spots - we embrace these 'imperfections' as talismans of their journey.

Because the provenance of these vintage jackets is so varied, it is futile trying to be precise about sizing. Thus, we have grouped them as either Small, Small-Medium, Medium, Medium-Large, Large and Extra Large. And, given that these jackets are unisex, we've differentiated between female and male sizing. If in doubt, might we suggest erring on the side of a larger fit - these jackets look great when worn slightly oversized.

Finally, a word on any underlying 'message' or symbolism associated with these jackets. We live in an age in which the sight of a military uniform can be a polarising, even confrontational, spectacle for many. And for those of you who know a little about the Hmong experience with the US forces in the '60s, you'll know that this is a sensitive issue for some. We like to think that we have re-purposed these jackets as once-symbols of something serious into something lighter and joyous.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Dust or wipe clean with a cloth dampened with water once a week. Be sure not to leave water spots on the surface. These water spots will dry and could possibly leave permanent marks.

Clean stains/spots using the following steps: Dampen a soft cloth with a mixture of hot water and liquid dishwashing detergent. Wring the cloth as much as possible to remove excess liquid. Rub the surface lightly in a circular motion. Dry the surface immediately with a clean, soft towel.
