When we first commissioned this print, little could we expect the response it received. The first printing sold out within two weeks. As did the second print run. And then each subsequent run was 90% pre-sold before it even arrived in the country. Which is why it's taken us until this, our sixth printing, to set enough stock to one side to supply our loyal online customers. 

These razai quilts are very special. Functionally, they're perfect for those warmer months. So light, you hardly know you're sleeping under anything. Yet, with a thin layer of 100% Indian cotton, they trap enough heat to provide the perfect layering for the warmer months. And then, when the cooler months come, they make the perfect base-of-bed runner - to be pulled up over an under quilt for that layering effect.

And then the look. What can we say...as soon as we open one of these up in a market place, people flock in. They are so elegantly timeless. The front is emblazoned with hand block printed charcoal palms on a white background surrounded by a tribal motif border. The reverse has block printed charcoal stripes on white. When the quilt is folded back, the effect of the stripes against the palms is striking.

We have upgraded the stitching to a classic diamond stitch vs the previous random stitch - we felt it a more classic look.

This print has been an interior decorator's and magazine editor's dream look for that perfect cover shot. Make it yours too.

 Our artists print using hand-carved wood blocks with natural vegetable dyes and 100% Indian cotton. Any imperfections are part of their beauty and individuality.  

 

 

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Dust or wipe clean with a cloth dampened with water once a week. Be sure not to leave water spots on the surface. These water spots will dry and could possibly leave permanent marks.

Clean stains/spots using the following steps: Dampen a soft cloth with a mixture of hot water and liquid dishwashing detergent. Wring the cloth as much as possible to remove excess liquid. Rub the surface lightly in a circular motion. Dry the surface immediately with a clean, soft towel.
